A LUT (look-up table) is a colour grade saved as a file. Apply it to a clip and it instantly changes the colours and tones of your footage, giving every shot in your video the same consistent look.
The LUT packs are .cube files, so they work in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and any other video editor that supports .cube LUTs. LOG to Rec 709 Essentials is a set of Lumetri presets, so it is made for Premiere Pro.
A LUT is a fixed colour transform you can use in most editors. A Lumetri preset is a saved set of Premiere Pro colour settings, so every slider stays editable afterwards and it makes full use of your footage's dynamic range and white balance.
LOG footage looks flat and grey straight out of the camera. LOG to Rec 709 Essentials includes 10 non-destructive Premiere Pro presets that convert it to clean, natural Rec 709 colour. They are the same presets Julia uses on all her YouTube videos.

Not exactly. Camera, exposure and white balance change from clip to clip, so a small exposure or white balance tweak, or lowering the LUT's intensity, usually gives the best result.
